I don't see a problem with discussing "all" toys in a respectful manner on the spawn website. But I also understand that McToys doesnt want tons of neca stuff filling up the boards.
I'm happy spawn.com has the website. I have met a lot of cool people because of it. Steve Hamady, chet, Todd Mc, Jor, Chaser, victor, lyn, Andy, Sculpey, and many others.

As far as NECA gettting weak, well I dunno. Randy is a cool guy and I think they have some good ideas sometimes. My main beef with the neca figures is what the hell happens to most of the figures when they go from prototype to action figure??! The prototypes for the most part look excellent. But when the figures come out, the paint apps and sculpts look nothing like the proto's. not all of them but a large majority do.
And the blatent packaging rip off is kinda lame. It's almost like they are trying to pass the figures off as Mctoys.

I look at it this way: I own many figures/statues/toys from many lines - DC Direct, ToyBiz, Neca, and of course McF. But NO ONE but NO ONE has made the level of quality figures among such quantity. You can find some superb final sculpts among every line that McF has produced - Matrix, terminator, Dragons, Sports (dare I say), Mandarin, Samurai, box sets, collectors club stuff, Aliens/Predators, etc., etc. Unless you never liked anything Spawn, i.e., McF, than you cant dispute that no one can match their outcome.

And if you never liked anything McF, then why be here or on the white board?

I buy whatever the fuck I like.
I don't give a rat's ass who made it.

and while my McF purchases have severely dwindled over the past months, that's not to say they aren't making a good product.
they just aren't (for the most part) making a good product for me.

I don't expect them to go back to articulating figures, but until they do, they'll get less and less of my money.
I will however buy each and every Elvis figure they make.

as far as NECA goes, the only product they've done that interested me was the Hellraiser stuff.

i think the neca stuff is overall decent and they are making alot of properties ive wanted from mcfarlane for years. but they still are step down from mcfarlane and probably always will be. and the sin city likenesses were really dissapointing. i hope the brittany murphy doesnt turn out that way cause the prototype looks great.

I would hope it's the latter, as staffers do nothing but bend over backward for anyone who shows a modicum of respect.

In five years, I've personally helped fans solve thousands of issues. I'm not asking for a pat on the back or for anyone to take warm showers with me, I'm merely suggesting that the problem doesn't necessarily lie with the "administration."

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I'm on this board because we can talk freely about toys and other subjects without restrictions and guidelines. We can't do that on the white board anymore, but I never stopped posting there because of it. I still post there, but the content is usually superficial.

Regardless, I still think it's a fair statement to say that old fans might be driven away and new fans might get the wrong impression because of the strict rules on the white board nowadays. How this turns into letting troublemakers advertise other companies, not appreciating staff members or thinking McF is comprised of assholes is beyond me. I didn't say any of those things, nor was I trying to imply them.

I think the staff at McF is wonderful to the real fans and has been since the beginning. However, I think the fact that I have to actually say that so my other opinions about other issues aren't misconstrued is rather disturbing. I run a website that does nothing but promote McF, and the majority of hits I get each month are from...guess where? - The white board. I'm certainly not one of the naysayers when it comes to McF and I wish my comments wouldn't be taken out of context just to reiterate how McF feels about the board they run and pay for. Trust me, I agree and I "get" it, more so than a lot of other peeps

Cool

If NECA made something I liked... I'd buy it. I don't care who makes what, where, as long as they make it well.

I've seen a lot of toys I've thought, "it's a shame McF didn't get that license" and other times I've seen stuff and thought, "wow, I wish McF would make toys like that".

The one thing I like about a lot of the other companies is that they include extra hands and/or heads. I'd like to see McF do that rather than waste the plastic on bases.

As far as posting on the white board... it's a rarity anymore. There's only so much you can say or read about a McF toy and I don't like the 5 or so different forums you have to bounce back and forth through.

Munkkey: I'm not singling you out, man, and I apologize if it's coming across that way. You're an old-timer and I respect that. I don't mean to put words in your mouth and that wasn't my intention.

I was interested in exploring a comment you made in your initial post, that's all. No hard feelings, brother.
